##CategoryD&D = Toon species template = == Base species: == A toon may be based on any other species. Player characters using this template may use a base species suited for PCs. Alternately, an animal or monster form, or anthropomorphic form thereof, may be used with human stats. == Apply the following modifications to rules and stats: == * Intelligence (except as modified below) is PC normal range. * Toons take only non-lethal damage. Should a weapon normally deal lethal damage, count as non-lethal if applied against a toon. * Toons, whatever weapon they wield, inflict only non-lethal damage. No penalty is applied to using a normally lethal weapon to inflict non-lethal damage. * Toons always have at least a couple extreme stats. Reduce the lowest stat to 3 and add the same amount to the highest stat. Optionally reduce the second lowest stat to 5 and add to second highest stat. * A toon receives a -4 penalty to spot and listen checks. == Feats == A toon receives as racial bonus two of the following feats. Additional feats from this list may be taken in place of a feat from the general list. * Belief as Reality: When presented with an illusion and failing to see through the illusion, may interact with the illusion safely ignoring any trap that might be hidden behind. Such factors as walking off the edge of a cliff or a trapdoor opening underneath the character have no effect until noticed. * Belief: prerequisite Belief as Reality. Character making a DC15 will check may treat an illusion or ignore a hazard as in BaR, even if they should know better. * Climbers Finess: prerequisite size small or smaller, base form with claws. Toon applies dex to climb checks. * Dexterous Clutz: +4 dex in combat conditions, but make a DC5 spot check for the obvious in other play. Penalties stack. * Excessive Concentration: When focusing on a task, +4 to concentration checks, -5 to spot and listen checks, spotting the obvious outside the scope of focus becomes a DC5 check. Spot penalties stack with general toon penalties. Penalties stack. * Flight: prerequisite toon has wings. Toon may fly at a standard 3 squares per round. Feat enhancements to mobility may be applied to flight speed. While toon wears no armor and is unencumbered counting their own weight, flight maneuverability is average. Light armor or medium load reduce flight to poor. Medium armor or a heavy load reduce flight to clumsy. Notably undersized wings reduce maneuverability by one grade. * Focused Runner: Add dex bonus squares/round to standard walk or run. While this feat is in use, toon must make DC5 check to spot obvious, and takes a -5 penalty to spot checks. Penalties stack. * Miraculous Escape: If trapped or bound beyond chance of normal escape and unobservable by other characters, a toon may teleport to a nearby location also not under observation. After using this ability, the character must immediately reveal themselves to their captor. The captor, at DM discretion, may require the character to walk up and distract them from a task to be revealed. * Pocket: The standard costume of a toon is assumed to have a pocket which functions as a bag of holding. * Red Shirt: All attacks against an ally in range of a character with this feat have a 50% chance of unerringly diverting towards the character, ignoring any cover less than 100% that might otherwise apply. In case of multiple red shirts, the closest or least covered is targeted. Red shirts heal at twice the normal rate, and count no damage beyond a normal knock out. * Unlimited Ammo: One selected weapon which normally uses ammunition or 0 level spell may be used without consumption of ammunition or spell slot/points as a standard action. A weapon employed with benefit of this feat does 1 HP damage. If selected spell has a duration longer than a standard action, spell may not be recast until prior casting expires. May be taken more than once, each time on a new weapon or spell. May be taken on a weapon as a fighter bonus feat. == Equipment == Toons worlds employ some equipment not commonly found elsewhere. ||Simple Weapons||Cost||Dmg (S)||Dmg (M)||Critical||Range Increment||Weight||Type||comment|| ||Battle Pie||1sp||1d2||1d3||18-20/x2||10ft.||1lb.||bludgening||pie may be used mele or ranged, being expended either way|| ---- CategoryRolePlaying
